the winds blow silence

the winds blow silence
across the many mesas
throughout the many back roads
through the drought striken land
nothing reaching the outside
a silence that hangs heavy.
but the winds will still carry
messages across the land
to the People who are connected,
they who know this place is sacred,
something to be protected
from this development
of the ignorant.
still the silence remains
no word to the outside,
but prayers continue
for the People
on this sacred land,
this land called Black Mesa.
