the rivers continue to flow,
carrying with them the inhumanity
of man against man,
one group against another,
the thoughts of those consumed by greed,
and the destruction of Mother Earth,
forgetting a time long ago,
when the air was clean,
there were no slurries,
no rivers were polluted,
water sources were plentiful,
no one faced injustice,
and all could live in peace, in beauty.
is it too late to turn back the clocks
to bring back a common respect
for each other, for Mother Earth?
isn't it the time now
to dredge these rivers,
so that this time they flow
again in beauty?
